How We Structure a Kite Camp Week

IKO progression

Afternoon sessions when trade winds are strongest. Mornings free for medina, recovery or optional surf before the thermals build.

Days 1–2

IKO Discovery — wind window & kite control

Beach theory, safety systems, kite setup, body-drag and first water starts in the protected bay. BBTalkin radio keeps you connected to your instructor.

Days 3–4

Water starts & riding both ways

Consistent water starts, controlled riding downwind and upwind basics. Equipment tuning for Essaouira's 18–30 kt afternoons.

Day 5

Transitions & confidence

Slide turns, controlled stops, edge control and reading the bay. Optional downwind taster for riders already independent (IKO L3+).

Days 6–7

IKO certification & autonomy

IKO Level 1 or 2 sign-off when objectives are met. Gear storage at our beach base for extra practice or rental sessions.

Wind is not guaranteed every hour — but Essaouira averages 300+ kiteable days per year. We reschedule sessions when safety requires it.
