Kitesurf Downwind Trip — Essaouira
Ride the trade wind south along Morocco's Atlantic coast with a certified guide
A downwind kitesurf trip is the ultimate Essaouira adventure for independent riders: harness the afternoon Alizé, glide along the coast, and land at Sidi Kaouki with our support boat and IKO guide alongside you.
The classic route runs from Essaouira Bay south to Sidi Kaouki (25 km) — flat sections, wave play, and consistent NE wind March–October. We also offer shorter half-day downwinds inside the bay for riders building confidence.
How a downwind trip works
- Step 1
Weather & wind check — we confirm route and safety plan 24h ahead
- Step 2
Beach briefing: rescue signals, radio check, kite size selection
- Step 3
Launch with guide + safety boat parallel to the group
- Step 4
Landing at Sidi Kaouki — cold drinks, debrief, return shuttle to Essaouira
