Surf Trips from Essaouira
Essaouira Surf Camp School runs guided surf trips when Atlantic swell aligns — mainly October to March. We depart from the beach in Essaouira and head south along the coast to Imsouane (≈90 km, 1h15 drive) for a full day on one of Africa's most famous point breaks. Intermediate surfers and confident beginners on green waves can join; we read the forecast 48 hours ahead and confirm by WhatsApp.
Transport Essaouira → Imsouane
Round-trip transfer in our school van or 4×4 from Plage d'Essaouira (meeting point at the school). Departure around 7:30–8:00, return before sunset. The road follows the Atlantic coast through Sidi Kaouki — no public bus to the break, so organised transport is essential. Groups of 2–8 riders; private trips on request.
Surf at Imsouane — The Long Right
Imsouane Bay hosts a world-class point break: a long, peeling right that can run 200–400 m on a solid swell. Best on mid to high tide with a clean NW–W swell. Summer is often flat; autumn and winter (Oct–Mar) are prime. Our ISA instructors guide take-off zones, lineup etiquette and safety on the reef/sand mix. One or two coached sessions in the water plus free surf when conditions allow.

Essaouira Bay — Your Trip Base
Lessons and warm-ups happen in Essaouira's protected bay before you commit to Imsouane. Sandy bottom, mellow beach break — ideal to build confidence, then level up on the point.
Sidi Kaouki — Half-Day Alternative
Only 25 km south, Sidi Kaouki offers open-beach power when Imsouane is too far or swell is better there. Half-day trips with transport and gear from €30/person.

What level do I need for the Imsouane trip?
Comfortable paddling, duck-diving or turtle roll, and riding green waves. First-timers should take 1–2 bay lessons in Essaouira before joining.
How long is the drive from Essaouira to Imsouane?
About 90 km and 1h15 each way. We leave early to maximise water time.
What if the swell is flat or too big?
We reschedule at no cost or switch to Sidi Kaouki / Essaouira bay based on the forecast.
