The progression: what to expect in your lessons

Learning to kitesurf is broken down step-by-step so you build confidence and muscle memory safely.

1. Kite control & safety on the beach

Day 1 • ~2 hours

You'll learn how to set up lines, understand the wind window, activate safety systems, and fly a small trainer kite or full-sized inflatable kite directly on the sand.

2. Body dragging in the water

Day 1–2 • ~2 hours

Head into the shallow ocean without a board. You'll use the power of the kite to pull yourself through the water, learning directional power control, relaunching the kite from the water, and upwind body dragging to retrieve a lost board.

3. The waterstart & first rides

Day 2–3 • ~2–4 hours

Time to put the board on your feet! You'll practice creating a power dive with the kite while pushing against the board to stand up and glide across the water.

4. Riding upwind & controlled turns

Intermediate stage

Once you can ride both ways, your instructor will coach you on body positioning, edging the board, riding upwind, and landing controlled transitions.
